busy week

Well if a admirably couth gentleman such as your self has a difficult time reading and understanding my post, I must insist that every person that has read my post immediately strike it from both their short term, and long term memory. That is if one could even read or understand such a low brow post.

After all it was written in a matter of fact format.

But just for you oh pillar of good form here is the magical rule that will unlock that mystifying post #13.

Take everything that was posted as fact, and consider it to mean the opposite.

let me know if you need help, i would not care to " derail " this exchange again, with posts like

seeing as how it was on " topic " before with posts such as

I had no problems understanding your post as Tongue and Cheek. Those who did. Well they really need to read twice before making comments.

To me you did a good job of getting your point across in the form of the written word. This obviously, sometimes isn't easy.

You're right. I should not have used "non-eloquence" to refer to your supposedly sarcastic post, but rather "inarticulate". I'm not the only one who had trouble reading and understanding the tone of your post.

Concerning my comment on knowing whether a lizard likes something based on a smile, the comment was made to Sang in a playful matter, and not directed at the original author, but you strategically chose to leave that out.

If the problem lies in accepting that your posts are difficult to read, not to mention understand their context, then I can do no more.

Cheers!

Fabián

For one who is so quick to comment on others comments, i could take yet another one of your posts appart. but there is no point.

i will say how ever i accepted that my tone was not spelled out, aka hard to understand? im sure there is a syntax error there but oh well.

this occurred here.

omg, my sarcasm is entirely to subtle apparently..

my entire post was sarcastic...........

Concerning my comment on knowing whether a lizard likes something based on a smile, the comment was made to Sang in a playful matter, and not directed at the original author, but you strategically chose to leave that out.

to be honest, it very well may have been playful, ( not to be mistaken for helpful, or constructive )

when i read your post i felt like i was watching someone getting ganged up on and mocked, and you were just another little kid jumping on the bandwagon with your own sarcastic mocking comment.

but if you say it was harmful jest, i guess that means both of us had a hard time following tone in text. which happens.

but either way, i have a feeling you would still have had a problem with my post regardless of my tone, delivery, syntax, or format.

i think we all agree this is getting us no where fast.

Ill say this, i wish eric would have been first to post a reply.

And my issues are with the way members treat other members under the guise of passion, and best interest ( not you jojackson )

and the way everyone holds on to and spews second hand advice and regards care GUIDELINES that are commonly accepted as the only way, when they were just guidelines to error on the side of caution. A guideline advising to never handle your chameleon is a necessary evil, it should be regarded as such, and in general a recommendation i agree with. But its not the only way, its not a guideline for everyone, and its not going to motivate me to mock or attack someone because they do not follow it.

I just want you all to know. I may have acted a little rash in taking him camping. But at the time I felt that it was the only thing I could because I had no one to take care of him while we were gone and I felt that he would not be in any danger. I am a new owner yes I welcome all advice and critism* when I do wrong (srry for causing this). I tried to do all my homework before I got him. I did not just rush into this like most people. I even had my 2 girls read up on them and they do not touch him unless i or their dad is around .I know I will be continuely learning. He did have some down time on the trip. When we came back he spent the entire day in his big cage. I have read some of the threads and saw that chams can be mean. I hope mine does not get like that. He very calm now. His parents were not handled much. I hope you can all put this all behind you and kiss and make up lol. Yes I read ALL the threads concerning this. I was not in any was way offended. I just hope you all do understand my reasoning to a certain point. I will NEVER EVER INTENTIONALLY HARM ZEE.

Welcome back Zeechiller! :)
Edited a few times now, confusion with your name, sorry. who the heck is defishy?

LOL, good for you Goggles, there can only be one anti-christ per forum, its tradition! :p

warning: burnt tongues from zapping toasted marshmallows by the campfire can be hazardous to your chams health :p :D

Atleast he didnt take it skydiving or bungy jumping!
Come back Zeechiller, suck it up dude, the value of what you can learn here outweighs the negatives.

.................

Dang, Im all confuzzeled. In post #16 I meant the sarcasm was defending Zeechiller. Thats where 'Defishy' came from. Hey, Im old! :p

He is Zee I wanted to put Zeesmom but someone had it. Chiller is my comp handle on other sites. It is my first initial Connie and my last name Hill. chill with er on it.

I don't see Nietzsche anywhere on this forum. So that leaves "the old immoralist... the birdcatcher". Yours truly ;)

I am a new owner yes I welcome all advice and critism* when I do wrong (srry for causing this).

You didn't cause this. Welcome back, Connie.

Fabián

I like this forum, It has been very informative. I even learned something today about covering the dirt in plants. I takes a lot to get me mad, ie the name chiller lol :). He did not like the s'mores though just his crickets.

I think defishy was the one who left.
Connie
Most people on here are very passionate about thier chams and to hear no offence was taken is great because there is so much good information to be had.
Even the most experienced breeders are still learning.

Welcome back

Thanks for the PM

And you shouldnt get in the habbit of say your sorry for something your not responsible for.

( sarcastic comment coming, do not take what follows as literal, best read with an understanding there are severe sarcastic overtones)
after all it was me that should be sorry since it was my fault, not the posters before me who gave you such a welcoming with such fantastic post full of: useful, constructive, expert, qualified, not to mention nice responses.

( end of sarcasm )

Watch out for elitists, with noses in the air.

take into consideration who you take advice from, look at their other posts ect...

anyways its perfectly clear levels of stress you described will not likely harm a healthy animal.

Esp one that proves to be an animal that doesnt stress as easily as others.

so now that you know it will not likely cause harm, consider that it will not likely help your animal either.

So taking him with you is purely for your enjoyment. But other than scientific reasons for stressing a chameleon out, there are few that are not for personal gain one way or the other.

all the following are situation where the chameleon is stressed for personal gain:

collecting the animal, exporting, importing, shipping, taking to shows, taking pictures for show and tell, breeding i mean the list can go on and on.

all stress animals out for personal gain, sometimes the gain is monetary.

( sarcasm coming )

but hey just because even wc animals with parasites can be aggressively collected from the wild, stored, exported, imported, stored, shipped can make it to your door.......that doesnt mean that after all that ( or worse yet, be a stronger cb animal ) it can travel in the same country, most likely the same state with a keeper who cares a great deal about them and be perfectly fine when its all said and done.

( end sarcasm )

again think about who you take advice from.

I enjoyed your story BTW. thanks for sharing. If you are ever treated this way again and i see it, count on me to call people out :D

A classroom full of kids? "Camping" with 2 dogs, 2 kids, a sister-in-law and a mother-in-law?

The more a chameleon is left alone by himself, the less stressed he will be and the healthier he will be. Poor chameleon :(

I too wish to apologize for my comment. As has been mentioned here, I am one of those cham owners who is CRAZY PASSIONATE about these animals. This is a great forum with loads of information (but you know that already).

Getting back to the original thought, if you are planning on going away for a few days there are many threads here that can tell you how to set your cham up so that he can stay at home and still be provided for.
