Burn on tail

My veiled chameleon varia is in a small tank at the moment with plants until her reptibreeze comes in the mail. I just got her. Well last night I noticed she had a burn on her tail because she got too close to her lights it is now black and a weird green. I'm worried. Should I take her to the vet or wait it out. I'm new at this. There is no open wound but I'm worried that it will fall off. It is only on the end of her tail about an inch. Her whole tail is at least 3 and a half inches. She seems a little dehydrated I'm not sure if she's been eating because she just woke up at 7 and it's only 8 now.

A dark area and the odd green area are signs of a burn. You can put OTC Polysporin (no pain reliever ingredient) on the burn to protect it from secondary infection. Hard to say how much of her tail might be affected so watch it. If the tail tip continues to turn black that tissue is dead and will need to be removed by a competent vet.
