Bubbling eyelid? Snarled lip?

My lizard's left eye seems to close almost shut often. When he moves his eyeball (?around? or ?blinks?) it looks like it bubbles out. Its like a pulse on the top portion. I also noticed his lip snares a little bit (like Elvis's lip). This lip action happens on the same side. I concerned with him, on thing for sure is I'm not going to drip boiling water in his eye! Any help fast would be much obliged.

Hello! If you could fill out this "how to ask for help" below and post a couple of pictures, it will be easier to try to help with your problem. Jann

Current Problem - The current problem that you are concerned about.

Well that is not too common, usaully the cause is because of his/her husbandry. The best thing you can do is too fill out that info and post pictures.

I'm not sure about the lip, but the bubbling is what chameleons do to clean their eyes. It is a maintainence sort of behaviour. If it is only one eye, however, you may want to have him checked out by your vet.

If you can post a photo of what he is doing with his lip, it would help. Also Jann posted some questions for you to answer. It helps all of us help you more when we know the answers to those.

In addition, why on earth would anyone put boiling water in a chameleon's eye?????

Good question. I don't know why, I just read some person claiming he does it and it's ok. I TOTALLY disagree with even trying something like that.

I was apart of that conversation which made me feel a little stupidXD but that is what he was saying. He had a weird way of putting it.

Puffy upper lips

Hey my ambilobe chameleon alastair has an upper lip that on both sides you can see a tiny bit of skin puffing out and looks a tiny bit chapped. Is this normal? I can touch the spot on both sides and it doesnt bother him. So I dont think it hurts. Am I just over observant??

You may have a problem. And you should perhaps start your own thread because what you described with your cham is certainly worthy of its own thread. Also, we would really really need photosgraphs, good sharp ones, to help you determine what may be going on (if anything).

sounds like a infection commonly caused by sharp cricket legs from adults. cuts the lip, and the bacteria goes at it. deff need pics, and a thread though

my guy is doing something similar to the eye thing, but i didnt make the title interesting enough to spark interest.
