Current Problem - The current problem you are concerned about.
I noticed he has bubbly saliva / mucus when he was getting ready to shoot for a cricket during his crickets
I got him out and listened to his berating didn't hear anything out of the normal no cracking or wheezing
Please help I'll be taking him to the vet in the morning but I'm concerned to do that because it is very cold outside!
Please help! Maybe I'm over thinking things!

mucus can be a sign of an RI.
a vet visit is good.
and just stick him in a shoe box with a towel and stick him in your heated car.
hell be fine in the cold for the couple minutes it takes to walk to your car.

Well here's another twist I guess I just gave him a silk worm to get another look and it was gone weird I think I'll still have him checked out but is it common for them to get a few bubles in the mouth for other reasons other than RI?

I had one Cham do the same thing, but it was only once.
We figured he might have had a drink of water prior to me picking him up. And the bubbles occurred. No stringy saliva, no noises either. He is absolutely fine.
It is up to you wether he goes to the Vet. It never hurts to be proactive. If he is fine, then your Vet will get a look at him and have records of him healthy, in case you ever need to take him when he isn't.
Can you collect a fresh poop and put it in a ziplock? Might as well have a fecal float and smear :)
Good luck, let us know what happens
Anne

I did the same thing, got a ceramic to run at nite cause my temps get low and he's only 8 months.
Mame sure you post what the Vet says
Its very cool of you to be proactive :)

It would be harder to do if I was going to be getting charged an arm and leg but I know my vet pretty good so he's going to be hooking it up ;) my temps haven't been dropping more than a 10-12 degree drop at night but we talked and going to be giving him a little fever I've learned through years and years of reef keeping get to the bottom before the bottom gets to the best of everything

Well all done with his check up!
The vet gave him a clear bill of health until the cultures come back we didn't see any active parasites in his poop
But his weight is 115g I also talked to him about dusting his feeders with a buffered non acidic vitamin c and he said that it wouldn't hurt a thing if I did it a few times a week 2-3 times a week and would help boost his immune system he also recommended keeping his cage on the warmer side through the winter to help boost his metabolism he said high 80's to 90 in the up region and high 70's in the lower areas to keep him warm and active
We are also going to keep his night time temps in the high 70's- low 80's for a week just in case there is anything in his system he needs to wort off so there's the update guys.... So until the cultures come back that's the game plan!

Well just to give another update of frustration the little trip must have further stressed him and now he's showing full blown signs of UPI and the vet I went to doesn't carry batril of Fortaz in small animal dosages :( the only get I found that does is 45 miles away and I don't want to make that trip with him and stress him even further and have it turn out even worse I'm at a loss anyone know of how to get it otherwise??? I don't wan to loose my daughter's little guy maybe my get can write a RX and get it off line anyone know about that need feed back everyone I know I'm not the only one to have gone through this??? I just live in an area with zero reptiles unless you call horses and cows reptiles please help me source out here!

How far from Boise are you?

There are 2 vets in Herp Connection that maybe able to help that are in Boise. They are:

Deborah L. Wiggins, DVM
Family Pet Wellness Clinic
8501 W. Franklin Road
Boise, ID 83709
Tel: (208) 377-9009

Mike Koob, DVM
All Pet Complex
6712 Glenwood
Boise, ID 83703
Tel: (208) 853-1000

Good luck and I hope he pulls through....hopefully someone else from your area can chip in to a good vet.

If your vet will write the prescription, you can get it filled at a pharmacy. I've taken my vet's prescription to the pharmacy when it was something too off the wall for him to have in stock.

I hope your chameleon gets better.

I'm about 4.5 hours from Boise I saw those too
I've called almost every vet in my area and they're all unfamiliar with reptiles and leery to prescribe or treat one I'm finding that this is all becoming very difficult and I want to do whatever as this is my very beloved daughters chameleon it was her very one wish for Xmas for about 8 months and now a month into it and it's on it's way out and I have to just try to smile at her and tell her daddy will try and make him better it breaks my heart when he coughed tonight and my little girl said oh no daddy he has a cold can you make it go away like you make my colds go away? Ughh trying to stay positive here but it's hard maybe with elevated temps like I'm keeping them will wart it off??

Good to know yeah I plan on bugging him more about it tomorrow squeaky wheel gets the grease right?

Well Mr. Crazy tiger pig and my daughter loaded up this morning for a road trip to get silk worms and to see another vet wooohoooo we got baytril now!!

Well today was his 3rd treatment and I have to say he is coming around great I've been doing the nebulization method with the baytril diluted in saline until the solution is gone and I noticed after the first nebulization his breathing cleared right up and the mucus build up in his mouth disappeared and he instantly stopped his coughing sounds also from what I've read this has almost zero effect on the kidneys and liver as well as the digestive tract huge bonus! He's been doing great seems to be back to his good old self roaming all over his cage and hunting down whatever I put in for him to eat! Yay!
