Bsfl terrify me now...

Just thought i'd share this... i put a hornworm, butterworm, silkworm, and a few bsfl larvae in a cup for my cham today. Came back to see the butter worm constricting the hornworm while the bsfl were digging through the hornworm's insides.... has anyone else witnessed these things murder other worms?

Whoa... what? Anyone else feel bad to for that poor blue horned worm? Yikes!
I've never put those 3 together... have put BSFL and dubia together, tho

Bsfl are composters so maybe if you give them something else to eat/compost in the dish they won't eat the other insects....or feed them to you chameleon separately....they have a reputation for being very voracious composers.

Oh don't get me wrong i wouldn't keep them all together on the regular. I have them in seperate containers, food and all. I just took them out for his morning food and threw what i was feeding in a little dish. I got sidetracked for about 30 minutes and came back to that horror scene.

@opheliaeatsbugs i felt so bad for the worm! And did you keep bsfl with dubia? How'd that work out for you?

I have just put them together in a feeding dish. There is nothing horrifying to report haha but I also had melon and kale bits in there so maybe like @kinyonga said - the food kept the feeders busy? dunno

Ook i see! Usually my guy would eat them within seconds of seeing them so i figured it wouldn't be an issue, but he's been on a little bit of a hunger strike lately. He decided he'd rather watch his food reenact the saw movies.

I've seen the same thing but never when I had other vegetable matter in the same container for the BSFLs to munch on

I've had bsfl eat butter worms. They like dig into stuff with their creepy pointy face.

Ahhhhh they give me the shivers. I used to let them crawl on my hands. Now I feel like they're going to squirm into my skin
