BSFL: How many is too many?

My girl is really loving the BSFL. She's an adult so I have been feeding her 2-3 feeders every 2-3 days. With the solider fly larvae being so small, how many is an okay amount to give is that's all she's eating that day.

Any insight appreciated!

I was always told to consider them as one feeder. And not add additional to try to make up for size due to their protein levels being high. This chart may help you. With females you also have to be very cautious of feeding amounts due to egg laying. You can feed her 3 feeders 3 days a week. And ensure basking temps are never hotter than 80.

It may help to think about bsfl and other larvae feeders as the same as crickets, roaches, etc but just without the legs & wings & things.

Oh wow! I’ve been giving Eustis about 12 at a time because they’re so small and he gobbles them up! Guess I won’t be doing that again!

Same! I fed Luna a bunch and was like well... let me see if I just screwed that up lol
