it literally looks like an ink pen busted on my cham.. is this a bruise?

Looks more like a burn to me, any chance he's been climbing where he shouldn't?

hes just been in his cage.. his bulb isnt strong.. so i was hoping that it wasnt a burn... he falls alot, so i thought it was a bruise... :/

I guess he is just clumsy... Everything checked out good on his last visit to the vet... I always hear him fall or i see him just catching himself by his tail... So I thought it couldve been a bruise...

You need to make his viv safe by adding more foliage and vines. Or bringing his vines lower so he doesn't have far to fall? I'm not an expert but I don't think a healthy Cham falls a lot. Could there be something in your husbandry that is causing him to have a weak grip? What supplements do you use and how often? Also does he have a source of uv? If he is falling I would be worried about broken bones.

I cant see how this could be a burn considering his spines that run through don't look at all damaged. Looks like a bruise from the few pictures I can find on the internet.

I tried to fix up the cage better... But he climbs the screen.. And ends up upside-down at the top, only hanging on by his nails in the screen, I can't figure out how to make him stop.. I dust his crickets every other feeding, and give him different worms, and yes he has UVB lighting...

Could you fill in the dreaded form, link above. Can you be specific about brand names of supplements please and perhaps someone more experienced than me will be able to help you.

Its a thermal burn. He hangs upside down on the top of the cage which would result in a thermal burn. The spines are darker too if you look closely, they wouldnt bruise.

thank you.. how should i treat him? just put burn cream on him? do i need to lower my bulb wattage.... and how do i get him to stop hanging from the top??

Sorry for your Cham's having a bad burn. With the rather large size of the burn, you should sill get a vet asap. And if he is a notorious screen climber, you should raise your basking light higher above the cage. I don't know your cage setup, but I experienced Chams to be more likely to climb screens when either the cage is too small or there is too little foliage and climbing opportunities. Please post your setup for better evaluation.

I think I finally figured out why Loki climbs on the screen all the time even with all the braches and plants and it was because the branches that where "secured" with thumb tacks where actually twisting on him and making it hard to climb so I put a second tack on every branch to keep them from twisting....I hope it stops his climbing on the screen:eek:

How often do you have to clean the poop out from the meditating monk figure?
