broke and really scared

What about finding a rep store close to you and ask if they take rescues .. I know my brother in law has a store and he will do it for people. If you can't afford to take care of your cham, maybe you should put them in capable hands and hope he/she has a chance of survival.

Although it looks like the OP signed off, I will offer possibly the best solution. Give the chameleon to your brother, who has your other one that is "thriving."
That is if you really want what is best for the chameleon, and not for you...

...yea i know it isnt right to steal but ill do any thing 4 them.

Then you should accept the fact that your financial situation apparently does not allow you to properly care for these pets. Give them to someone who can look after them. If you can not feed, supplement and house them properly, take them to the vet when needed, etc. they will die. Im sure that is not what you want.

I think this case is hopeless. We probably won't find out where they live and they will not give him up even if it kills him. I hate when people do this...

Why purchase an animal you know you can't keep? I'd really love a pet giraffe, but I'm not sure he'd appreciate the size of my backyard.

damn............now im stressing

Take this nicely. When you were even thinking of getting him you should have planned things out. Should have thought; Do I have enough time? Can I supply whats needed? Will I stay commited?

Yes I can but you haven't yet. Now that I have had him, I relized it was more money even after the final enclosure was done. I didn't have a job but now I went out and got one, otherwise I would be like you scavaging to help my animals. I am honestly totally commited to every animal I own espically Charlie. I will do everything that is needed for him even if it meant going out to get a job to pay for him.

Sorry I have no experience with MBD and nor do I want to. Good luck

OK guys I know I will get shit for this but I am ordering a cage, and a few other things like supplements tomorrow to be sent from LLL reptile to Josh & Janet. Since they plan to keep the little guy the best I can do is to help them. Now let's all be positive and try to help them understand the chameleons needs. Any ideas for me on things they need, now is the time.

I'd imagine as long as they have a UVB bulb, a cage and supplements they're good to go... Other things are relatively cheap compaired to the UVB and cage...

Are you working out some kind of payment plan?

I think what Laurie is arranging is quite sweet.

Still, providing a cage for the chams does not address the fact that they cannot afford to feed them, supplement them, take them to the vets, etc. That's a little scary ... for the chameleons! How did they even afford them in the first place? .......

If the owners cared about them, they would give them to someone who could provide them with a proper life. Something they should think about wholeheartedly.... :(

Laurie takes after my attitude, in that folk often respond better, one on one, with a person who is freindly, helpful and above all, non judgemental.
Im sure much goes on privately with Laurie behind the scenes via PM or Email, that we dont know about.
I know of several cases where she has assisted somebody behind the scenes to effect a positive outcome. Laurie is a quiet acheiver who Im sure quite a few folk owe a debt of gratitude.

Its not surprising folk who get roasted by 'holier-than-thou', 'goody two shoe' types here, because they are having a hard time, dont bother to stay, and therfore learn nothing.
Its very bloody hard to look in the mirror first!

Laurie, I think it is great what you are doing and I really hope this person will take care of their chameleon properly now. These animals are too precious for someone to see them as an object that doesn't deserve the best of everything. Please keep us updated on how the chameleon does :)
