Breeding Verruscosus

Hello all!
I am going to be attempting to breed my Verrucosus pair in the future, and was wondering if anyone had a picture of a receptive female? I can't seem to find one, and wanted to know what to look for. Also, what temperatures should I incubate at, and when should I expect little ones at those temps?

Thanks,
LPR08

As someone who still wants to breed (and first buy verrus), i did some research about them and i dont recall seeing such pictures. However, one sponsor over here is supposed to be BREEDING them (not getting wild caught animals), so maybe they could help you out. There is Tiki Tiki Reptiles: http://www.tikitikireptiles.com/products.php?id=29 and i think some other seller in Florida breeds some, but im not sure at all.

I wish i could help you more!

I recently got a new computer and I don’t have most of my files transferred over yet however honestly I have not been able to notice a standard ‘receptive’ coloration, I put the females with the males and the usual breeding rules apply. When gravid they turn an AWESOME cinnamon/red/cream stripe color with the normal browns, the females are quite nice… The link above actually has a picture of this. I don’t have my incubation information on this computer as well but the incubation I did the same as my panthers and veiled. 74 + or – 5. They even come out of the egg with the nice big spines on their backs

Here are a few baby pics.

How big were your breeding females Chad? I don't know how big she needs to be to make sure she can give clutches and remain healthy.

I have my male and female together in the same cage and I spy on them frequently and they completely ignore each other. I'm obviously not planning on keeping them together for much longer, but the male never advances towards the female and she completely ignores him as well. Does the male of this species tend to be more submissive unless the female is receptive and then he makes his advances? If they do mate and she becomes gravid, I am guessing she is going to become very aggravated with him, but is it okay to keep them together until then? They are roughly the same size and do not seem to mind each other's presence. They are much more bothered when I come around...

Sounds about similar to my approach to incubation however although probably not necessary I hatched mine out with a one month diapause at 65-67 F.

This is good information as well. Here are some recent pics of my CB 1 year old female that recently bred with my WC male. Hopefully expecting some eggs here shortly. :) She just went through a shed so she's a little more colorful than normal.

Thanks for the photos. My females is a little smaller than what your female looks like. So I will give her some more time to grow, not knowing the age is kind of hard, because I really think these will be fun to raise as neonates.

@Chad- The babies look like they have an air bubble on their neck? I have seen this on my male, is this something that I shouldn't worry about? The first time I saw it on him I was freaking out

Yeah, the females I found to be slow-growers. Luckily mine is CB so I knew the age and I just waited until she was a year old. I would think it would be hard to tell the age based on their size because their size would not indicate their true age range (as opposed to a panther female). I finally got my female to a point where she will eat out of my hand but the male still startles easily and doesn't want anything to do with me.

Woo Hoo!

She laid 17 tic tacs this morning!! (although I did have to do some search and rescue.......) Pics are forthcoming.....

I like the red heads myself, but I have a brown. Tyler likes the blond but got a red. Sheesh.

OOOOH CHAMELEONS!
