Hiyas all
melleri, let me start off sayen i love em i have one of fluxlizzards babies mine came from donna she named it Arley, let me say i have a few other chams but arley has the best personality an my favorite... Here is my prob i dont know what arley is I think arley is female but who knows seeing how hard it is to get a pair, it could take you a few to really get a pair. I dont have this kind of room that bein said is it really fair to keep cb arley single? I dont think it is an this is the hardest part I think i must sell arley to someone whos breeding them an has a few an not waste the chance for arley to carry on..
any thoughts?

There is no reason every Melleri has to be in a breeding program! Your guy/gal can lead a great life as your one and only. Don't sell/ship your pet out of some sense of obligation to the breeding pool. Serious breeders have no shortage of breeding stock to work with.
Should the day come that Melleri are cut from exportation and yours is one of the last ones in captivity then I will bring my pet single Melleri over and we'll see if we have a pair. Until then enjoy his/her company to the fullest.

I agree...There are species I would feel just as you are describing Rob. Melleri just aren't one of these. As long as every time you go to a show you see 3-4 in a 16x16x30 cage together I don't think you have any obligation. The only obligation I would see is to give it a wonderful home and care for it like you do.

I also agree!! Keep that bad boy/girl!! Wish I had the room for just one melleri.

I'm with the others... If you enjoy Arley as a pet, keep it! I see no problems keeping melleri singly. While others have had success keeping them in groups, I find keeping mine individually works best for me. Cheers!
