Are the hornworms suppose to be sticking up out of the ground? I have 7 total adult hornworms in this plastic thing with about maybe 3 inches of dirt/ silica sand mixture. The other soil I use was frozen solid.. so i ended up using the silica/dirt mixture that I use for my venus flytraps.
Anywho, one of the horn worms has had half of his body sticking out for the dirt for the past 2-3 days, and then another one emerged yesterday.. I tried to put dirt around the one that had his head up for 3 days and he shook around a couple times and got the dirt off... And yesterday I found some mold on the top layer of dirt that I scrapped out, so I'm scared to spray it anymore with water.
