I wanted to get my kids something special for Christmas since I asked them what they wanted and they said they arent in need of anything and were happy with what they have. That really warmed my heart. So I thought I would give them a new pet, so I went with this beautiful little guy. But I think I am more excited about our new member of the family then they are...lol.

Was thinking Castro or Sergeant.

What do you guys think?

Wow very nice specimen!

Does he get natural sunlight at all? Not that i am saying anything looks wrong he looks great.

How old is he?

You have a good tree in his cage i have about 8 small Ficus B trees in rocco's indoor cage. and this weekend i am going to heavily plant his out door 100 gallon flex with Schefflera arboricola.

I just bought him, and not sure if previous owner put him in natural sunlight, but I will definately ask tho.

Oh BTW according to the previous owner, he is a year old.

Nice, he looks well looked after.

What did the previous owner give him as his main diet? Mealworms or crickets?

Yeah I guess I am going with Sargeant and Sarge for short.........NO!! how about The Master Chief or Spartan 337?... OH YEAH Spartan I love it.....so nevermind on the name.

IT'S SPARTAN 337 woooot!

Quick question about photoperiod. What times are good to have the lights on and off and for how long...8 hours? 10 hours? 6 hours?

He is beeeeautiful, you are lucky! :D I love nosy bes with a bit of green and red. Congratulations on your new addition!

Typically it's recommended that the lights stay on for about 12 hours. I like to match mine to what the sun is doing. If sunrise is as 7, my lights come on at 7:30 and off at 5:30 when sunset is at 6. They have a huge window in their room so I like to keep the lights as natural as possible, since they can see what's going on outside.

Congrats on your new addition. He is a beauty! And yes, it is normal to be more excited than the children!!! lol!!! Well actually mine are teenagers, but our cham was supposed to orginally be my daughter's and mine and now he has become my little baby!
