Branches

We are collecting branches to set up my son's cage. Are there any trees that are toxic to Chameleons? Any branches we should avoid? On a related topic, are there any good places to get drift wood?

Any help you can provide is appreciated!

I would advise against drift wood, because it can mold really easily. I would advise you to collect what ever sticks / leaves you want. And then bake them in the oven to kill any parasites or just wash them with hot water and let him hang out for a few days, then rinse them again before you put them into the cage.

I used magnolia and crepe myrtle in my cage. I also found that if you don't have a lot of trees in your yard, local nurseries usually have a pile laying around you can pick through as well.

Are you saying avoid Maple branches, or are they good?

Thanks!
Sorry . the breeder I used said maple tree branches safe to use. My guy is about 5.5 months. I'm starting to grab branches take leaves off and cut the little branches off. Haven't baked any yet

I went out and cut the vines hanging off the trees. They look great... you can find some really cool twisted vines.

I used crepe myrtle branches from my yard. I mixed bleach and water and put into a spray bottle. I then sprayed thoroughly and scrubed with a toothbrush, rinse and repeat lol. Then I left them outside for a few days to sun dry.
