Bottom of Enclosure

Hello, was just wondering what you guys use for the bottom of your enclosure? Mine sits on a little desk and the bottom part has holes in it? I'd rather not ruin the desk. Also how do I mist without my walls getting all moldy? Thanks XD

put a layer of saran wrap on the back. Change it every month to prevent bacteria build up. on the bottom i use puppy pads cuz they last longer than paper towels and absorb more without leaking.Also i think they neutralize the smell of their feces. Its actually an exact fit in the bottom of my 4x2x2 cage

That's a neat idea! How often do you change it out?

I actually just started doing this last week when i ran out of paper towels and didn't want to leave the bottom bare or go to the store. I guess change it out as needed. I try to just pick the feces off the pad periodically when i see a couple there. Its basically like comparing toilet paper to paper towels.

What I had been doing was putting newspaper in the bottom which seemed to work. And thanks for the saran wrap idea, so obvious I didn't think of it XD.

EDIT: The newspaper was good for catching feces I should say, but water was still leaking through so I have an old towel I wash and put under there.
