Boiling sticks?

Hey Guys,
I got Koopa his big boy cage (zoomed 24x24x48) Not too happy with the cage but thats another post. I went outside to get some sticks. Ended up getting some off a tree by my house. They were too large for the oven so I placed them in the tub with scalding HOT water and dishwashing liquid. I let them say there for about 30 minutes. Do you think this was enough to kill anything on or in them. I havent seen anything but I dont want parasites or anything in my boy...

Hi! We stripped the bark and sanded then poured boiled kettle water over. Then fast dried them on a towel placed on top of the heater. The sticks have been in the enclosure about 4 months now with no problems.

You could also put them in diluted bleach but make sure you rinse well.
