Bogwood is just branches that have sat under the water....like driftwood.
Cypress knees are cone shapes that grow off the cypress trees to add stability (or so I read)

Not sure what the point of of this article is . Anyway I suppose whether a piece of tree was submerged under water or soil the out come could be similar. So back to the original thread is this safe in an enclosure as there's tanins in leaves but maybe more coming out of this piece of wood

I will post pics 2moro. The bogwood i have is a few thousand years older than whatever driftwood. But I will research it. But is it safe if you have not researched it and are comparing something else thanks but no thanks

I was not comparing it to something else, I was merely stating that is where I got the info that it was under water. I dont care one way or the other...soil/water.....
From what I can gather it is safe to use.

I don't really know the answer to this. I would assume that it would be fine if you let it dry out during the day, but I could be wrong. Perhaps someone else knows better.

I did see though that people use this wood in aquariums too.

I would say it's highly unlikely to rot (but I don't know if it was store bought or foraged) do you have pictures

Yeah its in all 3 of them. My breeder makes them and there is no other place to buy it but I never had a problem because I make interior that my chams cant get near.
