Thank you CG. I am just glad I am almost always home with them or I would have really freaked if I would have been away all day. I will be home all day except for trips to a neighbors to for occasional puppy feedings... so I will keep a very close eye on any changes.
Olimpia, that sounds like the answer...maybe they have some sort of tissue that needs to be broken in order to ejaculate the first time? The male chameleon equivalent of a hymen? I could almost wish human males had such a thing....it might make them a little more cautious...but that's another topic.....
