Black taints - is this necrosis?

Hi,
my chameleon had molted partially.
Now he has many huge black taint. Anyone could recognise what is this?
I have tried to make the skin wet and softly remove the layer. It's getting worse every day(more black). Its aroud 5 days since I have noticed this.


Cameleon gets calcium few days a week. Once a month vitamine supplemet, he eats crickets, wax moths, cockroach, locust, flies, slies larvae, fruit - (mostly apple), green leaves.
He has cages on lamps. Lamps are: 100W - warm lamp and 26 W UVB 10.
Humidity 55%.
He eats much much less now.

that looks like a burn on his legs.

I think you need to see a vet for that, asap.

That definitely looks like a burn, or bite. Do you feed black crickets? Get to a vet ASAP. They'll possibly clean the wound and look for an infection that may need an antibiotic. They'll probably prescribe silvadine cream to put on the wound.

I agree those look like burns and pretty bad ones at that. I also agree that a vet visit is in order. You state you have a 100 watt light for heat and a 10.0 UVB. Those could both be problematic unless you have a heavily planted large cage with lots of places for your cham to hide that UVB is too much. The 100 watt for heat could also be a source for a burn depending on how you have it situated on your cage and what type of material the screen is made from.
