Black spot?

Lately my friends have been getting baby veild chams. Unfortunately they die I noticed that they all had a black spot around their stomache area. When they are dead the black spot covered the whole side of the body? Can someone explain what this is?

maybe they are getting burned. It does not sound llike they know what they are doing if they are all dieing. is that your cham in the pic?

I have seen the black spot as well in deceased chams. I have no explaination for what causes it but it usually seems to be in a location that was bothering the chameleon before it passed. I have seen it near the kidneys on one with renal failure, in the stomach area in one that had just stopped eating for some reason, as well as top dead center of their head from an infection. None of mine exhibited the color except hours before passing, and they were all panthers and carpets.

Oh I see. Ya I believe they haven't been taking care of them so well. No that's not mine that's my friends. Mine is in perfect conditions actually he just finished shedding today
