Black Skin Problem

Cage Info:

* Cage Type - 5X2.5X3 screen cage
* Lighting - 150w sunglo, 5.0 UV repti-sun linear fluroescent
* Temperature - 88F basking- 70 in bottom of cage, 77 ambient-digital thermometer
* Humidity - 45%-48%- digital hygrometer
* Plants - live-dragon tree, corn plant, pothos, hibiscus, slpitleaf philidendron, ficus
* Location - living room


Chameleon Info:

* Your Chameleon -male veiled -22 months
* Handling - only when taking to vet/ putting outside in warm weather
* Feeding - butterworms, silks, crickets- gut loaded with fruits and veggies- every second day
* Supplements - liquid calcium from vet twice a week(instructed by the vet)calcium with D3 once twice a month, multivitamins once a month
* Watering - misting once a day-he drinks everyday
* Fecal Description - black with white urate-never tested for parasites
* History - used to be kept in a 15 gallon glass tank with previous owner, not well taken care of. i just went to the vet and she said he seemed to be in good health.
* Current Problem - black in between the scales on face develpped
 
Can you post a photo of the area of concern? I would guess it is/could be a bruise.

As far as husbandry goes, I would probably mist him more than once per day:eek:. I mist my boys two to three times a day for at least five minutes each time.

It isn't a very clear photo, but until I see a better one, I'll go with bruise. If it doesn't go away in a few days (or a couple weeks at the MAXIMUM) get him to a vet. My panther had a similar marking on his tail/bulge area when he fell from the top of his enclosure onto the floor. It went away within a week.
