Bizzare Rescues!!!

So here's another thread for bizzare or strange rescues and finds when it comes to lizards. We all know how slippery they can be if they want to be. So please share some hilarious escape/near eascape/recovery stories:D Like in EWW Factor, I'll start with my most recent one.

Okay, so I'm working happily, showing a potential customer our beautiful Columbian Boa, after finishing I put her back but can not find the key! So I lift up the panel on the floor and find it under there, then replace it not seeing anything. A kid standing next to me says that there was a lizard under there! And I confess I was doubtful but I wasn't going to not look just in case there was one. (They have been known to escape). Well, Loe and behold stuck to a cricket catcher mat was the Gold Skink that had escaped two weeks ago!!! I confess I couldn't stop laughing, don't ask me why, I guess it was because it was just so strange that such a fast moving, impossible to catch critter was caught with a cricket catcher. But I did my duty right away, figuring out what to use I got baby oil and gently peeled him off of the pad. I gave him a warm shower/bath in the sink to get rid of the oil and any remaining glue then put him in a small container with food and water. Poor thing was all tuckered out and we didn't have anything set up for him to stay in. I had to improvise, besides, he had dropped his tail and everything. I wanted to be sure he was okay. And as far as I know he is doing just fine:D

So yea, that's one of my stories, now its your turn:D

We'd find geckos stuck to those pads all the time at the pet store I worked at. They were all dessicated and long gone by time we'd find them. The worst were the escaped fish - especially the big ones that retained enough moisture to maggotize behind the tanks... bleh...

I adpoted a white spot gecko from a young couple who couldn't keep him in a tank, no problem for me I told them. I had him about three weeks when I opened the lid to feed him and he was gone in a flash. I chased him all over my reptile room, he was way to fast. Husband got home, we found him, couldn't catch him, he went under the door and down the hall to the laundry room. We lost sight of him. We saw him 2 or 3 times over the next 4 weeks but never got close. Hubby went to hook his laptop to the flatscreen tv and guess who lived behind the tv? We finally caught him with a towel, he had been out just over a month and looked healthy but not happy to return to his cage.

Once i went to one of my favorite reptile stores and i was looking at the chameleon cages, i heard something scurrying  so i looked behing the cages and there was a HUGE tokay gecko, happily eating escaped crickets. I told the owner and he said he hadnt even had any in in a few weeks LOL, i dont know what he did with him after he found him though, probably just let him be.
