My guy is all bark no bite...so i'm not sure. I can't imagine they are that bad if people continue to handle them.
But then again I can only say that because I have not been bitten *knock on wood*
Chameleons teeth really are not big enough to puncture the skin all the way (most of them anyway). I guess the exception is if they thrash their head back and forth. Then they tear up enough of an area to draw blood. A healthy adult should have enough pressure to make you think your finger just got shut in a car door. It hurts but nothing to bad. I think the nails are worse then the bite. If you get an adult on your hand that is uneasy with the handling sometimes they can dig them in pretty hard, they are long enough to draw blood in some circumstances.
