Biovine $$$

I am in the process of setting up my new cage for my female veiled, Arleen. I am looking for an alternative to the expensive biovine. I know some people use the plastic coated wire, but I really want something that looks more natural. I would really love some ideas that people have used or seen to give me a better alternative to that expensive biovine. All responses are appreciated. Thank you!!

If you want something that looks natural but it cheap.. not really too many options unless you want to coat the plastic coated wire with something that looks natural lol. Have you tried looking for something outside that you could bake?

Not to get off the topic.... but I think very highly of Bio vines. It is the single most easiest way to feed off silkworms to chams. Silks latch on to the bio vines and don't fall off like they do with other things. Like the sides of screen cages, other branches, and plants.
I never have to worry about the silks falling down to the ground, before the chams make a meal of them.

Ya I have a good amount of branches for her to climb on. I just wanted some more vineage to connect the branches and the plants?!?

Well if you are looking for something natural there really isn't anything other than biovine, it works well and is worth the money. Try your local craigslist and see if anyone is selling their reptile supplies.

I'd have to agree that bio vines and jungle vines are well worth the money. Pretty much a one time purchase. The only other thing I can think of is rope, but I have never used it so I cant really say exactly how good that is although many people have had success with it.
And SSimsswiSS is absolutely right... bio vines are perfect for feeding silks.

I noticed the same think with silkworms, bio vine is perfect for them! Personally I use one XL bio vine per cage and rapiclip soft wire tie for fake vines.

i found some zoomed vine at my local rep store. It is just a plastic coated wire, but it looks like actual vine and looks nice

You can see it in this picture, its hanging way down by the bottom of the ficus cuz it fell after i ran it the first time and i snapped the picture before i moved it again. I think it was a whole $7

I agree with Steve, but I hate trying to clean biovine, and it's expensive, so don't use it. Instead, I use nice pothos for vines, and/or I build a scaffolding type structure out of bamboo.

I need to get a better pic but you can get an idea of what I'm talking about here. link

Yup, that's the stuff! I ordered from amazon and it was cheap as well (got the light duty and heavy duty...light duty was MUCH cheaper at only $2.30 per + shipping. Heavy was $11.00 plus sh, and only available from one seller whereas the light duty was all over the place.
