bigger lights needed

Hi,

When I upgrade my veiled cham's cage (possibly tomorrow), will I need to get more/bigger UV lights and basking lamp, or will the ones I've already got be enough? The UV bulb I have is still good to use because I've only had it 2 months.

if you are using a 18inch linear uvb and going to a 24inch wide enclosure then you will be short some, and it would work in a pinch but not something I would do long term if me. I try to go end to end of the enclosure at least, and if possible corner to corner. The basking light should be the same in theory because you would still be trying to keep the light 8inch at least from that spot. However it never hurts to experiment with heat sources. I bought 25 & 40 watt lights and checked them both for optimal temperature ranges.

You'll probably need a larger UVB fixture, as suggested by Wykd, but only with some trial and error can you decide if you'll need a hotter/bigger basking bulb as well.

You could get a higher wattage bulb and simply put it on a dimmer to have the most control; otherwise, having a bulb of a few different wattages is the easiest way to find the one you want/need.
