ill be taking my chameleon into school for my senior project, and in order to minimize things, ill be going in at lunch cuz i wont need him till 1:00. he is a jackson's, so what would be the best way to bring him in, and keeping temps/humidity, ect. i was thinking securing a branch or two in a carrying container (like one for small pets/fish, i have a couple of them used for frogs and such) and putting in some paper towels and leaves to make him feel safe. but how do i keep the temps from frying or freezing him? the school is kept at room temp, and he will be kept in the botony room until needed. and should i be worried if he gets thirsty? ive heard using a box is best so they sleep..but im still worried, and dont wanna wake him suddenly for my presentation...ideas?

*my presentation isnt until may, so i have plenty of time to prepare :)

If you are unable to set up a seperate cage at the school, you could display him on a tree i guess? I mean, how long is this animal going to school for? The best option is to just set up a whole other house for him. Now getting him to the school, ziplock container with air lids, papertowels in the bottom. Id recomend hanging said ziplock from the top of the enterior of the vehicle, in pantyhose or somthing, to reduce vibrations.

he will be with me at school for about 3 hours..and setting up a second setup is near impossible... :/ i just dont have the materials to do that for just 3 hours...

As long as he is at room temp, not too cold. and you bring a hand mister with you to gie him water if he gets thristy.
he will be fine.
Maybe get a small plant he can sit on or something.
he can live without his uvb for a few hours

Amanda I will send you a pop up cage to use for him. He will be fine without a UVB for a few hours. I assume the school will be ok so you can getby with no heat light. Just a few sticks for him to climb on and a small mister bottle. Take him in a closed box and after he gets to school put him in the cage. Mist him when you put him in the cage, and when you take him out to show your pretty boy off. Put him back in the box fold up the cage and you are ready to head back home. Sound ok?

you could probably get it at a walmart.
or id even use a pop up mesh laundry basket... probably cheaper.

I use a pop-up mesh trash "can" that I had for my car. a clean one of course.

I made a cloth "door" with snaps that I snap onto the top so no escapes.

I hang it from the overhear console with a bungie so she doesnt' get the road bumps, but doesn't go wildly swinging on the corners.

Then I put a bendable branch so she can be elevated. It depends on the size of the cham if a small one like that works.
