Best vine/climbing objects

I'm looking to add to my free range which may end up being very large so I'm looking for the best budget/safest vines or bend-a-branches.
I feel like it will be too expensive a to use bend a branches as they are $10+ a piece.
Can anyone direct me to perhaps a much longer or space filling effective climbing item?
Thanks guys

I have seen some free-rangers use the soaker water hoses you can find at home improvement stores. This is hose that has many little holes all over that you put in your yard for watering. It is covered with a porous material that can be gripped by chameleons. You can get 50' for $20 or so.

Disclaimer: I have not used soaker hose personally and have not worked out all the surprises that come anytime you use something new! Though it looks like a good idea to me...

When i used to free range my panthers & yemens. I used to just collect oak branches from the local woods. Used lots of them so the whole ceiling of my reptile room was covered. Chams loved it, east to screw to ceiling & looked natural too.

Id would try this but unfortunately I don't have a dedicated room

I second the natural branch idea - totally free and you can cut down branches in any length or shape you need and just zip-tie them to the free range as you see fit.

i think rope looks nice.i havent used it but will be when i put my boy into a bigger home.not sure how much it costs.:)

just like this

Yes totally understand where your coming from mate. My wife wouldn't have been best pleased if i'd tried free ranging them in our living quarters either... especially considering the size of the turds adult male Yemens & Panthers do :D

Exactly mate, why pay for something that's free & does the same (better in my opinion) job.

Meant to add... love the blogs too.

Yeah definitely. Wish I did though, and my panthers dropping are nothing to mess with LOL

Exactly, I love branches because they give you what artificial stuff can't usually and that's variety in the branch itself. It's good for chameleon feet to have variety in what they hold on to, and a branch usually offers that variety naturally. Plus, they love sleeping on the very end of the smallest twig possible!

Thank you for the kind words!

I'm assuming you would have to bake every branch to sanitize?

Not necessarily, I don't (I just rinse.) I try to cut live, healthy branches from trees and they usually hold up super well for years. Ones that are on the ground are more likely to be weakened, dry, and tunneled by insects.

I sencond(or third i didnt count) the AMAZEBALLZ rope idea!! my friend in her free range room used giant/long pieces of bamboo (she hung a tiny rope hammock off of one of them!! adorableeee)

So I went with the soaker hose and rope to add to the free range. I looped them through a fake ficus tree I had and zip tied the living day lights out of the thing.
Loki is already on it and having a blast

He still doesn't like me getting close as you can see lol

And he proceeded to get back to his cage by trying to climb through the screen for about forty minutes... That was a pain getting him back, he tried biting me about 15 times lol
