what do people think has the best temprement, veiled or panthers, or does it just depend on the individual.

It always depends on the individual. But from what I've seen, heard about, and experienced, Panthers have better temperaments than Veileds. Now this is of course generally speaking because there are plenty of calm Veileds out there and crazy Panthers, but generally Veileds are considered a grumpier species. I do however own a male Veiled that is around a year old and is calm almost all the time. Except when I get a camera too close

I used to have a female veiled chameleon. Any time we got near the tank it would puff up and clearly get all pissed off.
I traded w/ the store for a male panther chameleon and let me tell you, any time I open the doors on his tank to feed him he doesn't even look at the crickets and somehow finds a way to cling onto my shirt. He always wants to come out no matter if its someone he's never seen before or not (btw, he is about 1.5 years old)
My female panther chameleon (breeding the 2 together in the future) is starting to get more used to me and comes out a bit more often but lately has not been eating or drinking much so I will have to get that one figured out.

It all depends on the individual. My Veiled used to be good with being handled once outside his enclosure. Not so much now. I'm considering putting up a "beware of Chameleon" sign on his cage. He is about a year old.
My panthers on the other hand are very friendly. They will willingly come out to you and handfeed. They do all they "fun" stuff . I have no problems having my 3 year old handle them. They are still fairly young though ( one is 4 months and the other is going on 6)
Notes: My veiled I adopted when he was about 6-7months. My panthers I have had when they were both under 3 months, so I have had a bit more time to "work" with them.
