So, I have noticed that when my panther chameleon sheds, he sits in his basking area with his mouth wide open. That is the only time I see him doing it though, is when he sheds. Is he just being weird or what? He is about 7.5 months old.
Usually mouth breathing is a sign of overheating. When they are shedding or just before the start a shed chams will often gape very wide to help start to break off the dead skin.
