Basking temp?

What should a basking temp be for a male veiled around 2 months old?

Thanks in advance,
Jake

Would it be fine if I didnt use a basking light? I got my uvb set up and everything but if I set up the basking spot it makes the spot like 90. If I just kept the uvb light up and ditched the basking light would he still go up to soak up some uvb just as he would to go bask?

my veiled chameleon is also around 2 months old maybe 3. i have the digital thermometer set up, speaking of which where should the censor thing be placed? at the basking spot or in the middle of the cage so it measure the whole cage's temp? same goes with the humidity meter (non digital). anyhow i have the thermometer censor in the middle of the cage and the temp. during the day is 80-83 and in the basking spot it is about 90. i assume he likes it like that since he is usually up there. the temp. in the night is about 77-74 when the lights go off which is about 7 pm. humidity is 50-60

thanks in adv :]

90 is too hot for a baby.

really? hmm that is so weird then. he is always up on the vine right under the lightbulb/basking dome i really do not see him go anywhere else but there. when he does go to sleep he goes on the opposite side of the cage and stays on a pothos branch

He'll sit there till he cooks. He needs you to take care of him.;) I keep my adult male at 88 or 89. Babies should be in the very low 80's.

really? i take him out of that spot and he just climbs up there...:( all this time i though it was because the cage was too cold for him and he wanted more heat...! by the way where am i suppose to place the thermometer censor? under the basking light insede the cage where he sits...? or in the middle of the cage?
