Basking Temp for Veiled?

How old is the cham?.

I keep my adults inthe low 90's, and babies in the low 80's. I increase the temps a little bit at a time as they grow up.

We think she is around 7-8 months. What would be a average. We have been told it should be around 90-92 in basking area. Sorry I am new to chams!!

Oh Thank You,

So it isn't nessecarily the wrong temp but this will bring on the egg laying which we dont particualry want as she is currently being treated for MBD. We only had her 3 wks and came to us with MBD and wasn't treated before.

So is the basking area should be around 80-82 ish???

If you have a female you need to keep her cooler unless you are breeding. Attached is a very helpful blog on female veileds. Also, at that age and if you have been keeping her that warm you need to have a laying bin in the cage for her. They can lay eggs even without a male around. Jann

I do the same thing with my females by using a lower wattage light bulb-thanks Jan for the reminder about the difference between males and females. :)
