Basking spot

i was wondering if i should have the UVB bulb next to the basking bulb so that when my chameleon basks, he also gets the UVB to absorb calcium. If he is on his basking spot most of the time, is the UVB reaching him enough? he gets calcium powder with no D3 on his crickets, and calcium with D3 and multivitamin alternating every week, but i have only had him a day and a half. Also, how old does he look to you because when i ordered him it said he would be a sub-adult but he looks very small to me. (sorry for the bad photo quality he is really shy right now and i had to zoom, I'm also going to add more foliage to the corners, i know it looks bare right now)

these probably don't help much but they are the best i could do, he tends to lean onto the other side of the branch to hide and turn a little darker (which is what he is doing in the first photo), without the ugly red light he is a lightish green with not much color variation and very small (my estimate is around 3 1/2 inches-ish not including his tail)
