can I use a ceramic heat 75w as a basking light ?

Hi. Technically you can, but chams are attracted to not just the heat, but the light. Even though my plant lights don’t put out much heat, all of my chameleons are attracted to their mega brightness for basking rather than the less bright but warm basking lights.

Led lights put out little to no heat. You want either an old fashioned incandescent or halogen.

Provided you've got a substantial plant light, a CHE should be fine for basking—just set it up so that the basking light (whatever kind you use) shines under the plant light.

I don't disagree. However, for those who can no longer get suitable incandescent/halogen bulbs, IMO a CHE is a viable option.
