BASKING LIGHT

Hi. Technically you can, but chams are attracted to not just the heat, but the light. Even though my plant lights don’t put out much heat, all of my chameleons are attracted to their mega brightness for basking rather than the less bright but warm basking lights.

thank you !
so what is more recommend a yellow light ? or a white led light ?

Provided you've got a substantial plant light, a CHE should be fine for basking—just set it up so that the basking light (whatever kind you use) shines under the plant light.

I like this explanation of why using white light bulbs creates more efficient heating than ceramic heat emitters
I don't disagree. However, for those who can no longer get suitable incandescent/halogen bulbs, IMO a CHE is a viable option.
