Bad update on googles

This is so upsetting. I have never cried and felt bad so much before. Googles was doing great up until last week when she started shedding, or so i thought. I came in today and she was looking really bad, so i picked her up and there was no tension on her tail. I called Dr. Greek and saw him, he said she has a high protozoan count and her kidneys are inflamed. He said there could be a link between them, or she could have kidney disease, it was kind of settling that he told me it wasnt my fault, but i still dont want my girl to die. I started bawling when i got home because she opened her mouth and stuck her tongue out, turned ghostly white with black patters, and i could see the wave of pain hit her, it was so disgusting and sad. I feel terrible, i gave her medicine and 5 crickets and water and shes green at the momment. Any senior member know what else i can do other than medicine and water and food? :(:(:(:(:(:(:(
Edit: she is now 28 grams, from the 20 she weighed 6 weeks ago

Not too familiar with dealing with a chameleon that has a high protozoan count but i do know that increased temps help the immune system.

I've heard that Dr. Greek is excellent. I will keep my fingers and toes and everything else crossed for her recovery. Jann

I am really sorry this is happening. I don't know that any of us can tell you to do more than Dr. Greek did. You saw the best vet around IMHO. Just do as he said and we will all hope for the best. All our thoughts are with you and googles.

Good luck with her Trevor.

I know she didn't looks so hot the last time we saw her, I thought she was improving?

best wishes mate.

me 2! i thought she was inproving, actually i KNOW she was, so i dont know what caused the high prot count? Dr. Greek also said that she could have had kidney disease since she was born and it just slowly is getting worse. It was kind of morbid and funny at the same time, but he looked at me and said "well if she was in the wild she would have been eaten a long time ago" God i just hope she gets better i dont want her to be in this immense pain, it was so hard to watch, i cant imagine what she felt.

Trevor I am so sorry you lost Goggles. There was nothing more you could have done. I know that doesn't help much, but as least you know you provided excellent care.
