i was checking my super worms recently and i noticed tinie tiny white bugs. I thought that it might be because of their cage so i cleaned it all. But now i dont know what to do with the worms! Should i get rid of them? Right now i hav them each in individual contaners with nothing. I figured if the white creatures are on my superworms that it would be a waste to add all new things in case the bugs start to spread. I sprayed the bathroom and the room where i keep them with lysol to kill the bacteria if these are bacteria related bugs. Please help me i dont know what to do!!!!!!!!!!

They are fine just clean whatever your keeping them in and change the substrate. They are probably just mites which wouldnt hurt your chameleon if ingested but if they get all over him they can get in armpits and other crevasses and cause irritation. I would throw out your worms if you dont want but be careful not to let the mites get on the chameleon.

Howdy Destiny,

From time-to-time I get grain mites exploding from superworm bedding. They can end-up getting everywhere throughout shelving and cabinets and if you don't stop the spread, you may find them in your breakfast cereal someday . The simplest thing to do is toss the contaminated bedding and isolate that old batch of supers, their new bedding and their container from any new supers and their separate container along with their fresh bedding. After you use-up the old supers, toss their bedding. I also recommend that you place the container with the supers and their bedding in a pan with a "moat" of soapy water. That way any migration of grain mites will drown into the soapy water before they escape to dry land :).
