Back leg grabbing

For those still interested about mr littles diagnosis, he went back to c.s.u. today as planned. He hasn't shown much signs of improved strength, but did blood work again and uric acid levels were normal which rules out gout. Everything was normal, calcium and phosphorus were good. No signs of renal failure, no signs of mbd. Fecal sample was normal, no paracites.They didn't find anything other then a possible case of periodontal disease. No mouth rot, that was visible. C.s.u does not have a diagnosis at this point still. He will be on antibiotics once every 9 days for the next month or 2 that is administered by a needle. They do not believe it is due to old age given all vital organs are functioning properly. Arrgghhhh these little guys are tricky. Please keep mr little in your prayers, he is doing alright right now, we can just only hope at this point the antibiotics do thier job.

I have a similar situation going on I’ve noticed the past two month my chameleon has been losing weight an has bumps on both back legs but they didn’t start to pop up until like two months ago he did start to gain some weight an got filled out not over weight or anything to scary just grew bigger an Thai morning he was very weak I couldn’t tell if he was dyhrdated so I hand gave him water from a string an I put him on a branch in the shower so he could get all that steam his back legs seem weak at the hips which those are the ones that are fatter an he has lost a lot of weight I noticed he is eating but only a few at a time not big amounts like normal he just seem very weak when he tries to stand I’m gonna take him to the vet tomorrow morning I hoping whatever it is that it’a reversible an he doesn’t die on me it would break my heart his jaw an everything else look okay so I don’t think mbd ..

Make sure your taking him to a vet with Reptile experience. The back leg that I can see is quite swollen. Looks very similar to gout. Don't put him in a steamy shower this is actually not good for them. If you want help please post your own thread.

Sorry to hear a out your little one. All I can recommend is that you follow bemans advice and take him to a vet with reptile experience.

Also those still wondering about my mr little I have good and bad news. We've figured alot out since I've last posted, hes doing better everyday. He has the appetite of a pig and eats very well still, I've changed my gutload to repashy superload, which is what the doctor recommends. Still slips from time to time,(due to back leg grabbing) but gets right back up. Hes figuring out that's why he slips and can sometimes remove the leg being grabbed and get along just fine. Hes a little trooper, just received his last antibiotic shot yesterday. C.s.u. said there is no more need to bring him in unless more problems arise. The bad news was they said they found a mass around his abdomen area they didn't know what it was. After doing more xrays and an ultrasound they determined he had an enlarged gallbladder thank goodness it wasn't a tumor or cancer. I was worried sick until they told me that. Not sure what the long term effects of that will be, I'll go over that with the doctor next week, he has been seen by 3 different specialists over there. They are all very impressed by him given his age, like I mentioned earlier he has no other signs of illness, besides minor periodontal disease. They have no explanation for the leg grabbing still which is frustrating. But to receive a relatively good bill of health is pretty good news.

I forgot to mention, he does not have gout. That was what the dr. Thought at first but after more visits and the xrays and ultrasound that was not the case and was ruled out as well as renal disease. Kidneys look good as well as all other organs.
