hmm. mist him/her for 30mins in the shower with warm water. mabey it will get whatever out of the eye. if it opens and its better quick than your good. if it opens and not better put a tiny bit of solution in the eye to help wash it out. if it doesnt open at all continue showing daily untill you can bring the cham to a vet. this is what i think will help.

sence this morning isnt that bad. give it a little but of time. may have poked it or something. were there any signs of a problem or was it sudden?

any other ideas?

When I woke up this morning he had his eye shut. I misted him for a bit and had to leave but when I came back his eye was open more. It was time to clean off his plant so I put him in a warm shower to mist him for about 10 minutes.

I just saw him eat 2 crickets with his eye closed but he'll open it every now and then. I bought some solution for his eye and will mist him again in an hour or so. The eye looks clear when he opens it. No sign of debris

ok well honestly id wait a few days. if it starts getting better than gr8. if not than go to the vet. keep doing what your doing and update us daily on this thread. at the first sign of it getting worse= vet.

goodluck

What specific supplements do you use and how often for each?
What do you feed/gutload the insects with?
How long have you had it?
What is the brand and type (spiral, compact, long linear tube, etc.) UVB you are using?

If I were you, I wouldn't leave crickets free ranging in the cage right now... at least until you little chameleons eye is all better. There was a post not long ago about a little pygmy chameleon who was having trouble with a closed eye and crickets ate the poor little chams eyeball, it died shortly thereafter. Crickets might sense that your little one is weak and vulnerable.. Not saying this is always the case, but if it were me I personally wouldn't wanna take the chance (just my opinion)

Hey everyone, I checked up on him again and misted him in the shower. While he was in the shower he lightened up in color and his eye went super yellow. I've attached some pictures. This definitely isn't good. I have saline solutions but I'm guessing I should take him into the vet's tomorrow. Any other ideas

While that's really yellow, I don't think it's as scary as you seem to think it is. They are animals that change colors. Yellow rims around the opening of the eyelid are the norm. It's possible that the shower felt good so the area relaxed a bit. If you peek at your chameleon when he's sleeping, you'll see him being much lighter and yellower than you are used to him being during the day.

I would just keep with the showering and mists.

What sort of saline solution are you using? It should be one with the least amount of other chemicals. So, not one that advertising itself as ultra smooth or extra soothing or cleansing, just "sterile saline solution".

Most of what you get in the store is sterile, but in an effort to attract customers, companies have added stuff that is designed to make it more comfortable. You don't want those added ingredients.

In an odd way this works to your advantage because the most basic "sterile saline solution" is usually the cheapest.

Don't be afraid of generics!
