Baby Panther

Hi all, I'm Dylan, just bought a baby panther from a breeder in NY. He's a month and 1 week old. I noticed the last few days, he'll fall asleep in the middle of the day. When i wake him up he's instantly alert and seems completely normal. I was just wondering if this is normal being that he is so young or if its a sign/symptom of a serious issue. He's eating and drinking regularly as well.

Thanks so much for any input you are able to post

This is not a good sign, What are his lights on/lights off times? I'm not sure but this could be parasites(don't want to jump conclusions). Maybe one the more experienced can help.

Its not a good sign. A chameleon sleeping with the lights on could be numerous illnesses. A month old chameleon can take naps in the day and it may be nothing. I am disturbed by the bozo who sold you the chameleon at such a young age. A general rule is 3 months old unless you are experienced.
Good luck and p.m me if you need help.

well i am experienced with chams, just never had an issue like this with a baby, oh and how do i pm you?

Its possible its just a weak baby. From my first clutches I had a few that would sleep. The first one is still alive but still sleeps. I really cant figure out what could be wrong because she gets the same as others and they do very well. She is seperated and has no added stresses. The other 2 from clutches after the first died at about 1 month. Again, they were isolated and given the same as everyone else. They ate but not as much as the others. I hope someone didnt sell you a sickly baby. Definatly PM Chuck G with anything you need help on. He is a great guy to buy from and will help anyone even if they arent a customer. He calmed me down when my first clutch was starting to hatch and gave me great advise.

thanks so much Cain. hes got a real strong grip and good color, even at a month, so im not sure what to do or what conclusions i can make, but ill talk to chuck for sure

That sounds pretty good keep it on 12 hour cycles. I am assuming 100% something else is the problem.
EDIT:eek:ops missed all those posts, I didn't refresh my computer!
