Hello, so I recently got my first chameleon, a baby panther, and I've been noticing he seems to be a bit lethargic, but also moderately active at night? Hes about four months old, I got him December 3rd, so I've had him for almost a month now. I've handled him twice since I got him, once to do an overall health check and another time when I moved his cage into a less trafficked part of the house (my room). He's currently eating ~15 medium crickets a day, I dust with calcium with D3 once or twice a week and a complete multivitamin once or twice a month. I feed the crickets gutloading cricket food, but they are usually fresh from Petco when I feed them to him. I must his tank three times a day, use the dropper all day once or twice a week, and I watch him to make sure he drinks his water. I've never had his feces tested for parasites, but its usually about 1/2-3/4 blackish/dark brown and the rest is a whitish/light yellow.
His tank is currently a 18x18x30 screen tank, but I do have another, bigger one for him when he's ready, with a 5.0 UV light and a night and day bulb to keep a good basking temp. The temperature ranges 75-100°F during the day and about 65-85°F at night. I have live plants, an umbrella and a ficus in there for him, and some fake plants just to provide more for him to climb/hide on. His setup is in my room, which has very little traffic except for my cat who wanders the house as she pleases, and his tank is set on top of a table ~2ft. off the ground. I live in Oregon so I make sure the heater is going to keep it a little warmer in my room for him.
I have been noticing that recently he's becoming a little lethargic all around, I don't know if it's because of how active he's become at night or because he may not be feeling well. He still gapes and walks around when I look at him, so he's not ill enough to just laze around when presented with a threat. Any ideas as to what could be bothering him? I was thinking it might be something to do with stress because of the holidays, all the moving stuff around and him being around the kids that have been staying at my house recently. They haven't been allowed in my room because I didn't want to stress him, but they are loud around the house.
Let me know what you think, thank you! I'm new here but I love this place already
