Baby panther chameleon from a show.

Hey guys my chameleon just ate his first dubia a few minutes ago, im just wondering, hes sitting in the same spot as he caught it in, should i give him more

They didn't specify how old he was, ill add a picture. Hes still a juvenile. I know that he is probably like 3 months old :3

I'm no expert but he looks a bit thin to me. I'd be feeding him until he wasn't interested in roaches/crickets anymore. You could also look into black soldier fly larva I hear they are good for chameleons of any age but especially the young ones.

Definitely looks a bit thin to me too, I would feed crickets and roaches, young silks/hornworms, black soldier fly larvae and the flies themselves, maybe stick insect nymphs.

He's definitely a little on the thin side. I'd feed him as much as he wants to eat. Black soldier fly larvae are also known as phoenix worms and are super high in calcium. Excellent feeders but they maggots and kinda give me the willies. I love hornworms. They're nutritious and help keep your cham hydrated

Would they over eat or stop when they have had enough?

With adults they can/will overeat. With a growing baby feed them as much as they want.

As babies you gotta remember panther chameleons grow from about 1-2 inches long and maybe weighing 2-5 grams to 16-18 inches long and weighing up to 275 grams sometimes more, all in the span of about 12-16 months. They grow extremely fast and need to feed as much as possible until they are about 8-12 months old and then you can slow down to about every other day. Most chams will end up slowing down themselves and then it is easy to tell how much to feed after that. I used to feed my panther 22 small crickets a day until he was 6 months and then it slowed to about 16 mediums. But he ate a little bit on the high side of what most chams eat

Unless you have a female, then you want to slow down at 6 months, and turn temps down around then too. If you aren't breeding.

Ah yes ^^ I have never had a female panther/veiled myself so I have yet to go through the actual changing of the temps myself. I always forget the female temps are the same as the baby temps. The only female I have is a female jacksons, and I try to keep her in the 78 range, way too low for any panther or veiled.

man i wish my chameleons ate that much, id be lucky if they ate 10 feeders, no matter what they are. my baby fischer eats a good amount though, but hes the only baby of the 4 chams i have.

It means I am referencing the post above mine. so I said "^ this" I meant "what they said"

Sometimes it doesnt work, as someone will be posting at the same time as you. there post will be over top of yours at which point you have to edit it lol and change for this example to what Andee said.

Okay lol, that makes sense. I figured it was something along those lines but wasn't totally sure. Thanks for the help!
