baby Panther Chameleon care

Now my little guy is about a month away from being old enough to come home with me i'm gonna be starting to make sure everything is all set for him.

I tried doing some research for youngin' panthers but I didn't find much that was too reliable, and i just want to make sure things are perfect!

If anyone knows of any caresheets that outline the care for 2-3 month old panthers, or tips on feeding, supplements, basking temps for them that would be great!

I got my Nosy Be at about a year old so I have ZERO experience with itty bitty babies.

supplements are same as a Veild. Basking temp should be around 90 for young cham and can be higher for an adult panther like 95 degrees. If you find your chameleon gaping at 90, then lower the temp a little. Humidity pretty much same as veild, and ambient cage temp in the mid 70's is good. Same diet, same gut loading as veild. Panthers normally do not eat veg like the vields.

So panthers arnt any special care requirements? I thought they would be on the "tough" side because of pricing. Why priced so much hire than veileds then? I mean yea.the colors are awesome but same with veiled. I was thinkin about a Jacksons next but panther may be on the wish list

Neither my panther nor my veiled get fed everyday. But I thought Babies needed more food and to be fed daily?

I have my guy basking at around 85*. He's so small that I've got him in a 16x16x20 and because of this, his temps aren't that variable from top to bottom.

I dust ever so lightly with Repashy All In One. He will be getting some rays and uvb on the weekends when I commute back to Houston. 4 1/2 days inside my warehouse and 2 1/2 days outside under the canopy.

He shares the aquazamp with Chazam and the timer goes off 7 x's throughout the day @ 1-2 minute intervals. I will also hand mist him if he seems dry/thristy.

Plan on feeding upwards of 15-20 crix a day!! This dude is a lil piggie. I've tossed in some itty bitty hornworms and so far no bueno. I also placed some itty bitty dubias in a lil bowl and so far no bueno! We'll get there!!!

Ah yes, that sounds about right. I knew they could pack away more then my two combined.

Now the rapsashy all in one is not the same as calcium plus, correct? I have the Calcium plus, but then I also have plain calcium, calcium+D3, and a multi-V. I just have to figure out which supplements he can go on.

I don't know if they're hyper-sensitive to supplements when they're babies, or if they need more for those growing bones!

I don't really have a care sheet.I can tell you how I raise mine,mind you at that age I house them communially.It's basically the same care as for an adult although the cage I use is approximatly one third the size of the ones that I use for adults.And of course the crickets are much smaller,should be a 2 week old at that age if in doubt go with a large 1 to 1.5 week old.Gutload your crickets and dust every feeding,I alternate between d3 and no d3.Temps I don't really monitor,I have a UVA/UVB tube that shits on top of the cage and a 50 watt basking bulb mounted on the cage in one corner.An important consideration is water delivery,I have a DIY flood system for my cages,some sort of automated misting system would be beneficial.I never raised any neonates without it so I can't comment on the effectiveness of just a drip system with maybe handmisting.Cricket size is important when in doubt use the smaller size.They will choke and die from a cricket that is to large for them to consume.At that age they eat alot.

No probably not lots, he may get some in. But as I won't be getting my hands on him until September-ish, it's hard to say. Vancouver summer only really just started a couple weeks ago, but it's already on it's way out and by september we might be facing more fall-like weather.

Ah very good, i have a mistking so the water coverage shouldn't be an issue.
