Today my baby furcifer verrucossus arrived! Yay! He's around 16 weeks old and I've put him straight into a reptile breeze xl. Within minutes he was hunting down locusts, soldier flys and house flys. He even ate a few calci worms right out my hand, result!
Anyways I am using a 12% t5 arcadia unit on the top of his cage and the closest branch to it is around 10-11" away. The breeder said that is fine because in the wild they like to bask in high uv readings, he knows his stuff and has documented his trip to Madagascar taking uv readings. My question is though should I play it on the safe side and put another layer of screen under the tube even just for a couple months till he is a bit older?
