I really thought my girl Trixxi was going to lay a few weeks ago and posted some pics of her on a thread called *need some help/advice on Trixxi please* in some of the pics she looks sooo fat and then in others she looked as slim as anything! Anyhow she wasn't up the duff in the end and starred to eat again after nearly 10 days with no food,is your girl eating ok?

oh yeah. shes still eating like a champ. shes such a chunky butt, she'll eat anything. she likes the looks of my fingers most :D

My thoughts.........

Very cute picture of Annie! I don't think she looks all that gravid. I've always been able to feel the eggs. I don't remember a time that I couldn't feel them. And Veileds tend to be loaded. I can usually see the eggs when female Veileds are ready to lay. I've got one digging in the bin right now. Annie's colors don't scream gravid to me. When in the beginning stages their color can vary quite a bit. Towards the end they are very vivid and dark. Mine are anyway :)

oh okay. i'll just watch for the colors than. thanks! i thought maybe in the begining they showed colors, but then the colors went away. shes so much different from my little male

Although colors are often a good indication, that is not always the case. I have a female that NEVER shows gravid colors. She always shows receptive coloration, even when gravid and laying. I would feel her stomach, and keep an eye on her weight if you have a scale (good investment IMO).

What a long way Annie has came! She is beautiful. I have a girl who has been dark for 2 weeks. If she doesn't lay soon I am cooking spagetti so I can beat her with a wet noodle!!!!!
