Anyone have the link to the thread where there were different ideas for baby bins? I'm needing to start this project soon and I needs some ideas. There was one that had a huge table set up that I really liked.

is this the one?

This thread is 4.5 years old. Tomorrow more people will be online and I'm certain they'll be able to assist you.

I am not experienced with Panther chameleons as all my chameleons are montane species. However, I currently have 18 babies. Five jacksonii merumontanus and 13 jacksonii jacksonii. They are all 3 months old. They are all in individual 8"x8" ExoTerra glass terrariums. You can see my set up here on CF and read about how I am caring for them by searching for my (MeruJack) threads/posts. My most recent thread was "BABY UPDATE....WITH PICS!!!" As far as how often to clean the nursery bins, I clean mine every weekend. I spot clean poop on leaves as needed throughout the week. I change the paper towel substrate every weekend or sooner if there's a lot of poop. The more they eat, the more they poop. The more they poop, the more often you'll need to clean. Enjoy!!

All my adults are in screen enclosures. I have not had much luck keeping babies alive in screen enclosures. I think glass enclosures are much more popular for chameleons in the UK than they are here in the US. They have their pros and cons but, then, so do screen enclosures. For babies, they are great for humidity, especially for montane species. Also, glass enclosures come in several smaller sizes. Although I did try using mesh butterfly enclosures for one clutch of babies nearly a year ago....but none survived. Other keepers have been very successful using mesh butterfly enclosures. The glass ExoTerras were a steal at a recent Reptile Expo. They were $25 for the 8"x 8" and $30 for the 8"x12" and no shipping and no taxes! I currently have 6 empty ExoTerra enclosures.....and a gravid jacksonii jacksonii arriving TOMORROW!!!

Very nice again thanks for all the info. I'm very hopefull my little dudes will survive as we are just entering summer so it's getting nice and warm and I noticed there are little poops showing up all over the place with nice little white pee spots so they must be eating and drinking. I'm keeping extra eyes on the little little guys

Do you use the 8x8s as in 8 inchs high? or the 12 inches high? I was thinking of setting up a rack of 30 of the 8 inch highs but was not sure if that was tall enough for baby panthers.

Yes, it's an 8" glass cube with one door rather than the two used with the larger ExoTerras. The babies started out in 12x12x18 glass enclosures in groups of 6-11 babies but I couldn't keep track of the babies as well and after about 3 weeks they started dying. Then I put them in the 8x8's as singles (bigger, older babies), pairs and trios. Since then I have only lost one baby, the runt. As I added more cubes, I was able to spread the babies out until now every baby is in its own 8x8 cube or 8x12. Montane babies seem to grow slower than other babies so, depending on how fast panthers grow, you might go with all 8x8's or all/part 8x12's.
