Baby ambilobe cage size

I was just wondering if a baby ambilobe chameleon about 1 month old, (I believe he is a male) could live in a large cage that is 2 x 2 x 28 ? I was thinking to use feeder cups so that he doesn't have difficulties when catching prey because of the cage size. I also have a fully automatic dripping system that he can easily access to it. A uvb 10.0 due to the size of the cage and a basking area that gets at 80 degrees

Well afterward all, I dicided to put him in a smaller cage because I also worry about him falling off the large cage. This is his final setup with the same drinking station.

You will get different answers on this. I have seen some say smaller cage and others say that they will naturally hunt so cage size does not matter. I believe most of the breeders do not put heat on them at 1 month though... Do you happen to have a solarmeter to double check what uvi your getting at basking? That would be my only concern. Are you using a T5HO fixture for it and is it a single bulb fixture? Typically we put a T5HO 5.0 uvb bulb in a single or dual fixture to get approximately a 3-4 UVI level at basking sitting 7-8 inches below the fixture.

Unfortunately I don't have a solarmeter. The basking that I'm using is a ordinary house bulb that gets to around 81 and it's a single fixture bulb and I also have a 10.0 because I have been successful using 10.0 with many types of chameleons specifically veiled. However this is a panther so I might have to use a 5.0 instead.

Are you using a T5ho fixture or a t8? If it’s a t5ho I would drop back to a 5.0 uvb and then have basking at about 7-8 inches below. This will give the little one a 3-4 uvi range.
