Babies beginning to hatch!!!

:D My first panther babies are hatching. I opened up one of the containers and saw 4 little babies curled up on the vermiculite and another coming out of its egg. This was the second clutch, and was dropped around 3 months after the first clutch. 7 months and they are hatching and are looking healthy and strong.

Time for my stress level to go way up, but this feeling is worth it.

I have some material to make their habitat coming from amazon this week but it has yet to arrive. I have them in a blue Rubbermaid tub with sticks going in every direction and fake foliage in it.. it was the only thing I could find for them to drink off of at the moment and will be changing it when I wake up tomorrow. I'm going to have to go to a few stores tomorrow before work and try to find a small ficus or something with good drinking surfaces, also I need to buy some aluminum wire screen and that green vinyl covered wire stuff so I can copy seeco's ultimate baby cage guide.

Anyways I'm ecstatic the babies are hatching.

I will be uploading a picture of the sire.

Congrats, that must be a great feeling :)
I have often thought about breeding, but the way I am, the worry and stress
would kill me!! plus, I would need more time and space, and I dont have either
of those to spare

Do you have some fruit fly cultures going? :)

They are so sweet!! I love babies hatching. Dad is a real beauty.

Except for you having FF's all over, the tub will work fine for a few days. Just make sure they have food & water. Also make sure the tub will stay warm.

fruitfly cultchers

Which variety of flies do you guys use, the D. Melanogaster or D. Hydei? I will order some today.
