Average number of eggs

I've noticed that my one Ambilobe female has had 3 clutches , whos averages have far exceeded those of all my Nosy Bes. Of course 3 ambilobe clutches vs. 15 Nosy Be clutches does not provide a statistically sound sample, but the trend seems to suggest quite a difference.

Has anyone else notice a measureable difference in average clutch sizes between different Panther locales?

Has anyone , upon comparison , found that Ambilobes generally produce larger clutches than Nosy Bes?

Awesome question!

We should get a tally going and compare locales. It's tough though because clutch size depends on female size... There might be more variation within the locales than between them.

I have records from several ambanja and ambilobe clutches that I can dig up when i get home. I'll post the numbers later.

My unscientific guess would be that clutch size has a lot more to do with diet and size of the female (previously stated).
Pardalis are all the same species and I wouldn't guess that locale had much to do with it in captivity.
Could be a completely different story in nature with environmental variables playing a part.
