Hey, Just curious... What is the average lifespan for your chams? I'm fairly new to the forums and going to be getting a Oustalet's soon, but just curious what others lifespans are...

Here's how my chameleon vet answers that question......anywhere from 7 days to 7 years.

BTW Welcome to the forums.

true, I could say that about every pet, person, life form, etc.. : ) But, what is the average length most people are seeing theirs live. I have had my animals for years (Aussie/Border Collie - 14 years, 2 Sulcata's - 7 years) and I know I'm not expecting a cham to last this long, But I was curious...

It depends on the species....so there is no definite or even probable answer to your question without knowing what species you want to know about.

A buddy of mine who owned A reptile business would answer the question when asked how long do they live???... he would then ask how old was it when it died...After given the answer he would say "Thats how long"!!!
P.s. my last female oustalet breeder was almost 4 when she went.
