hello!!!! i finally have enough money in my chameleon fund to buy a automatic mister. does anyone have any preferences on what site to use and what kind. i know about Mistking.com but im not sure on their prices. does anyone know any other sites that may be cheaper. sorry in advance for any misspellings bec i have some bad allergies and ive been sneezing like heck so i might press some letters and not know.

i cant knock the other systems out there because i have never tried them, but i personally use a pro-mist 60 from (pro-products.com). i love it, and it has a 5 year pump warranty. i did alot of studying on the systems out there and yes you can buy a cheaper system but always keep in mind you get what you pay for. i have heard nothing but good things on the herpmist and the mistking but i liked everything about the pro-mist. do some research, dont buy one just because its cheap. look at all the features, customer service, warrenty, and study the product. just my 2 cents

Definately buy a syetem with the herp mist/mistking/pro mist style pumps. They're are virtually silent and they can be expanded to about 16 nozzles at the very least, depending on which pump you buy.

i was just looking at misters and the cheapest for my money seemed to be herpmist, but the hobbyist version doesnt even have a timer. how much is the cheap timer bec the timer on mistking is 80 freaking dollars?!?!?!?!?!!! also, should i get the big enchalada or the hobbyist.

look for a digital clock timer not a repeat cycle timer. with a digital clock timer you have way more options on your settings.

You don't want to cheap out on the timer. To me this was the most important part of the setup. I have a Mist King and the $80 timer..lol. It is awesome. You might get away with using a digital timer but you might also drown or dehydrate your chameleons as they are very unstable.

Herpmist sells the regular $18 timer as well. I have this timer on my herpmist setup like many others and it works just fine! I like it quite a bit, and even though I didn't mind spending extra money, for what it was, the $80 one didn't seem worth the extra cash for what I wanted to do. This may change in the future, but I don't see why for now. Jason doesn't sell cheaply made stuff, so the $18 timer won't be a bad investment.

The herpmist is an awesome setup. I made a three nozzle setup yesterday and my chams were already going crazy for it!

same as me. I bought a digital time clock from local hardware store cost me £14 (approx $25).

I can set it on/off any time of the day, i.e on for 10 minutes at 10am, 5 mins at 12pm, 3 mins at 3pm etc etc (up to 20 programmable time entries).

worth every penny.
