So im confused about the rules.

# Ratio: [smaller side / larger side]
# Minimum Ratio: Horizontal photo >= .56, Vertical photo >= .65

How do I find these two things out?

If you win second or third place can you enter the contest next month. Can you enter it with the same chameleon?

Having a hard time deciding on your favorite?

Comparing the original size of each image can help and is recommended. Photos should not only be judged by the chameleon displayed, but also on composition and image quality.

Just checking.

Contest prize winners must sit out from the following contest.

So in other words... last month, Stefan won a prize (first place), so he has to sit out. But, the second and third placing contestants can enter this month because they didn't win a prize (other than the neat ribbon)?

But this month since all three finalist win prizes, next month they will have to sit out?

My camera cost under £100. It takes better close-ups than general scenes. Took a lot of practising with the different settings though!

Congrats to all entries through to voting! :D

I think Sandra makes a good point when she says 'knowing how to use it'. You can have all gear in the world... but it doesn't mean you'll get a good photo.

With the number of entries we receive, photo quality is very important. This is especially true for the initial entry reduction phase. The best tools one can use in this contest are their own eyes. While an expensive high end camera can offer more power to an experienced photographer, they are no guarantee of capturing a good photo. Photography is more art than science. If you are not familiar with the terms below, I recommend google.

Photographic composition

image size and resolution

image pixelation

image artifacts

If anyone would like more information on how their entry was graded send me a pm.
