Are these collard greens?

So I found these at the supermarket and none of their leafy greens were labeled. They don’t look like collard greens if I Google, but nothing else was listed as in the section except for kale and they don’t look like kale to me (I did see kale there beside them). The cashier didn’t know either lol. She just punched them in as collard greens because I said I hoped that’s what they were.

Darn it! Can I use it as the leafy greens for my roaches? It’s not on the graphic so I wasn’t sure

Kale is a bit high in oxalates, which bind to calcium. You can certainly give them to your roaches, but ideally only the ones you won’t be feeding right away.

Kale is low in oxalates, but higher in goitrogens. The thing is, you won’t find a plant without some sort of “anti nutrient”.

... Sorry, but I think the phrase "collard greens", is a very Southern USA term. I also find myself confused as to what they are, exactly. Is there some sort of list of 'collard greens'?

Not sure what that is but collard greens don’t have bumpy leaves…they’re almost flat…

I found collard greens today at Albertsons and yes, they are primarily southern US thing, although I don’t live in the southern US (why i was searching high and low now that dandelion season is ending)

There is no list because it’s not a group, it’s a single species. (The name is confusing, I know)

Ok reading the Wikipedia’s page, they are a group?? Idk. I’ve only ever seen them marketed as “collard greens”. Apparently they are the same species as broccoli and cabbage.
